Simply the best view in Marbella
One could drive around Marbella for weeks in order to find a better view than this – and it would all be in vain.
When one enters the gated hilltop community of Monte Mayor, even from far: one immediately appreciates the dominant position that this house enjoys. Perched high on the side of a steep slope, the impressive, sleek house offers unbeatable sea and mountain views which do not have their equal except, perhaps, in a handful of super luxury villas in La Zagaleta (with prices tags four times higher).
This beautiful house has a perfect south west orientation; the south allowing panoramic views over dozens of kilometers of coastline all the way to the Rock of Gibraltar; and the West offering panoramic views over several ridges of lush green mountains. Those are all natural reserves and make for the most beautiful sunsets one can get, combining layers upon layers of shaded mountain views with warm red evening colors .
As the views are super panoramic, the house, based on our “ribbon” design, was conceived as an over-sized picture frame (over 30 m wide!) adding an incredible perspective to the views.
Also inside, all room layouts have been designed in order to maximize the immersive sea view experience.
On the ground floor level, the open plan living, dining, and kitchen area stretch over the whole width of the house, separated by nothing but sliding doors from the enormous semi-covered terrace, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
Designed and built for one of our Belgian clients the house reflects the unique brand of understated, minimalist luxury and sophistication that only Belgians seem to pull off. No expense was spared in the choice of materials, furniture, decoration and art – and fortunately this house will be sold completely with all these. If you like your Minotti, Maxalto or Luceplan, you will certainly feel at home in this elegant home.
The interior is based on a beautiful combination of white oak with sophisticated ultra-thin decorative concrete panels covering most of the walls.
In the living room, both dining and lounge areas face a beautiful, sleek wall with a minimalist linear gas fireplace.
The kitchen offers a sculptural island which combines worktop and an informal dining table; beautiful fittings, and an invisible hob (as well as a hidden pantry to keep more unsightly things out of view).
On the upper floor, the master bedroom (or should we say master penthouse?) occupies almost one third of the level. Not only does it contain a generous master bedroom with panoramic views – the open-plan layout also connects the master bedroom (via sliding doors, that can be hidden inside the walls) to a glass bathroom which captures the morning sun and the view from any angle. Whether from the spacious freestanding bathtub, the double-sized walk-in shower room (with rain shower, of course), or standing in front of the floating double vanity – the sea and mountain views are totally interrupted. So much that even the mirrors are suspended from the roof, dispensing the need for any walls. To top all of this off, beautiful built-in wardrobes – all completely custom designed – and a cozy private TV room complete the master suites. All walls are custom built, and finished in beautiful wood veneer – a team of Belgian carpenters was flown over and spent weeks on site, executing everything to perfection.
Two more bedrooms – who would be labelled master bedrooms in many other villas – complete the top floor. Their extra wide sliding windows allowing also here for immaculate panoramic views. They offer smaller but beautifully decorated bathrooms with tasteful minimalist fittings.
An additional four bedrooms – all of generous size – are tucked away both on the ground floor behind the living room and on the third, lower level, bringing the total count to 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. The lower level also features a practical garage, ample storage, and a perfectly equipped technical room.
Outdoors the house was conceived as a mini resort, with a pool area that built around an over-sized infinity pool. The swimming pool is unusually large; it is also heated and can be covered when not in use to maintain the water temperature. Around it one finds sun decks on different levels, and a beautiful sitting area complete with a fire pit.
Although the gardens and terraces surrounding the house are all exceptionally large, retaining walls allowed the owners to conquer even some more space area, fully covered in artificial grass for aesthetics and low maintenance – and a pétanque area-with-a-view.
Although the house feels like the absolute countryside/mountaintop retreat (and it is), it is a mere 5 minutes away from the restaurants and golf courses of the Marbella Club and Villa Padierna Golf Resorts (not to forget their spa and equestrian center) and 10 to 15 minutes to supermarkets, tennis or beach restaurants – or whatever you may need. That is – íf you ever feel the need to leave this beautiful Eagle’s nest.
Gated, protected, with home automation 24 hours security, this is also a house one can easily leave “lock and leave”. Visits are warmly recommended!
