It’s been a great honor to have been invited to design this modern-day palace for one of the most prominent dignitaries in the Middle East.
Slated for construction on Jubail Island, this villa will enjoy truly modern architecture, yet at the same time, it will remain a true palace.
Combined with timeless references to Arab calligraphy and architecture, the house features around 9000m2 of internal space, arranged around an Arabic patio with a water feature. The 4 volumes are connected by an archetypal geometric figure in the middle.
• The oceanfront volume contains the large formal majlis and dining room in one wing; while private lounges, studies, and dining rooms are in the other wing. Upstairs, one finds the lodgings of the owner’s family, distributed over west and east wings.
• The inner courtyard, cooled by beautiful water features as inspired by age-old Moorish traditions, provides a cool inner garden ánd views for the second line of volumes, which contain entertainment areas, and guest suites. It also allows for a nice indoor stroll, as most spaces of the front entertainment wing are connected to this landscaped patio.
• The house will enjoy an amazing waterfront location on the Jubail Island development, just off Abu Dhabi near Dubai.
